half a mile from the village Ballybunion, is this world famous
golf links. Legendary champion Tom Watson, and the renowned
architect Robert Trent Jones, are prominent admirers. "Playing
Ballybunion is similar to playing Cypress Point in America.
There seem to be no man-made influences and this is a course
on which numerous golf architects should have lived and played
before they build golf courses".
This was quoted by Tom Watson. Additionally, Herbert Warren
Wynd said that "it is the most beautiful coastal golf
course I have seen...". Ballybunion located on the spectacular
North Kerry coast cannot be surpassed for its scenic beauty,
the tranquillity , the excellent course condition and the
variety of challenges posed by its 36 championship holes.
The visitor has the difficult choice between the splendid
Old course, and the new creation by Robert Trent Jones. This
is undoubtedly one of the prettiest in Ballybunion, but it
is equally obvious that it is very tricky to play. The New
Course, with succession of formidable par fives and spectacular
beauty is as one of the world's masterpieces.

Baltray, just 35 miles from Dublin airport has two of the
most demanding courses alongside the sea. Club Professional
Paddy McGuirk says there isn't a weak hole on the course.
This 18 hole course poses great challenges and is situated
in a pictueresque area. With its 6,783 yards, the course is
considerably lengthy, specially when one considers the hazards
of blowing winds and heavy rough. The County Louth Golf Course
is a Championship links that can be enjoyed by every golfer
and though Baltray is demanding -- the rewards are many.

With a rather short history, the Connemara Golf Course is
compared to the best in the Ireland. The course was commissioned
in 1970 and the 18-hole championship layout was opened in
1973.
The beauty of the Connemara Golf links is bound on three
sides - by the Atlantic Ocean, while on the 'inland' side
the there is an a wonderful view of the 'Twelve Bens'. The
clubhouse is a fitting centre piece for this impressive as
well as demanding course.
In all, the Connemara Golf Course course offers the perfect
challenge to all those who want prove their abilities.

The links at the The European Club present a wondeful golf
and visual experience spread across 200 acres of sand dunes.
It runs along the beach on Ireland's scenic East coast, South
of Dublin. It is in fact only 150 of the world's almost 50,000
golf courses are links! The European Club is designed in a
way to be the greatest links of the this century. Moreover
utmost care has been taken to shift the links design into
a modern age without compromising on the traditions and skills
of linksland golfing.
At the European Club, blind shots are absent, but the thrills
of pitch-and-run golf, tall dunes and the chance to slice
your ball to the beach, pot bunkers of cavernous proportions,
provide a memorable round. The links open since 1992 has gained
recognition as one of Ireland's six greatest golf courses.

Undoubtedly, the premium links courses in the country, it
has been the venue for the Irish Open Championship. Also it
has been awarded the world championship ranking by quite a
few golf critics. The sandy soil here at the Portmarnock peninsula
makes it ideal for golf.
With 27 holes, the potential as a golf links was realised
way back in 1894. Within just two years of its opening Portmarnock
hosted the Irish Open Amateur Championship. It has also played
host to the prestigious Irish Open Championship on numerous
occasions since. The Walker Cup has also been hosted here.

Known in Ireland as Rosses Point, the County Sligo Golf Club
lies in the shadow of the Benbulbin Mountain. Since its opening
in 1894 by Colt & Allison, it belongs to the ranks in
the best of Championship courses. The Irish Amateur Championships
has been held here every year for the past eight decades.
Amost from every point there are scenic views of the mountains,
the sea and the almost hilly countryside surrounding the County
Sligo Course. The course length is 6,645 yards and a round
of 18 splendid holes is a never-to-forget experience for anyone.
THE ROYAL DUBLIN GOLF CLUB, CO. DUBLIN.

Located ideally along the coast road at Dollymount, the Royal
Dublin Golf Club is a links 6,855 yards in length. It is laid
out in the traditional links style resembling St. Andrews
quite a bit. Fine fescue grasses provide a perect basis for
greens and fairways . A wandering wind adds that little extra
hazard. Fine bunkers, close lies, wonderful greens and subtle
trappings are features of the Royal Dublin Golf Club.

One visit to Waterville Golf Club will take you back in time
to the beginning of the history of golf. Founded in 1889 it
is one of the oldest golf clubs in the British Isles. Golf
at Waterville is nothing short of mystical - scenic classic
links land, picturesuqe sea surroundings, and as challenge
by the elements. The course is situated on a strip of land
right between Lough Currane and Ballinskelligs Bay. .
The Clubhouse at waterwille has adjacent practice area ,
